GUCCI GOES GREEN Fashion Italian brand Gucci launched an eco-friendly campaign *thumbs up*. Looks like they're still able to provide a luxury brand with eco-friendly packaging. Last November, the brand promised to reduce it's paper usage and carbon footprint. François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO, PPR, Gucci’s owner, stated: “If we wait for customers to make sustainable development a condition for purchasing, then nothing will happen. It's as if green products were somehow not normal. They are normal, it is the other products that are not normal. It's up to us to work out how to make green products the new normal.” Spotted in vogue, creative director for Gucci Frida Giannini said  "This project proves that you sacrifice nothing creatively when working with environmentally friendly materials." Supposedly Gucci Bamboo sunnies :) Apparently its made with liquid wood *Oooohhhhoooo* In an eco-centric move, they've also launched a new range of

Subtle Skin Saturday We all love being pampered from time to time be it facials, massages, the usual spa treatment or homemade relaxation! Pure goodness which leaves you looking a goddess and your face feeling heavenly! Recently I tried out a banana and honey home made mask, its a good way of not wasting those over ripe bananas instead of making the common 'ol banana bread. Plus its inexpensive and easy, not very time consuming as well. All you'll need is :    1 Ripe Banana  1 teaspoon of honey Method: Mash up the banana, and make sure this is done well to achieve a smooth consistency. You don't want to have any chunky bits.     2.   Next stir in the teaspoon of honey well. **** And Viola! face mask done! Apply to your face and neck area. Leave it on for about 15-20 mins and rinse off with warm water. Honey is said to have many healing properties and has been used for many many years. Both the honey and banana will have your skin looking and

Fun Fact File - Diamonds

Image
Diamonds were originally used to polish axes :/ who knew -Harvard physicist Peter Lu  found that ancient Chinese used diamonds to polish ceremonial burial axes over 4,500 years ago. 4 Things to look out for when purchasing a diamond: (The 4 C's)   Clarity: Diamonds contain miniature parts of non-crystallised carbon. If theres too much, it will interfere with the light and detract from the sparkliness (**,) making your diamond less valuable :( The fewer the inclusions the rarer the stone. Inclusions are not visible to the naked eye, only through a magnifier. Colour: Diamond colour grades start at "D" and continue through the alphabet. Although the presence of colour can make a diamond less valuable ie) yellowish/brown, some diamonds are found to have extraordinary colours (red, blue, pink, green and bright yellow) and are extremely rare and expensive   Carat : This refers to the weight of the diamond rather than it's diameter. 1 carat is divide

History creates meaning and one can learn from it despite how *meh* it can be at times. I often think about identity and how one would go about describing oneself. I find myself at many times wondering (I day dream from time to time) how one should respond to the question "Who are you". My name simply constitutes a part of my identity. Diamond Rings and other things... If you were wondering why I chose the title then read on I say, read on! :D Having been born in April, my birthstone is the diamond. Being born and having things start a new does carry certain symbolizations and connotations with it and so I knew the title had to be fitting with something "new" to me. Rings are also symmetrical and signify commitment (hehe commitment to an awsome blog) and are never ending. Have you ever just taken your ring off and looked through it with one eye *like some sort of pirate lol!* it gives you a new perspective to the things around you.  *some precious stones*
