GUCCI GOES GREEN

Fashion Italian brand Gucci launched an eco-friendly campaign *thumbs up*. Looks like they're still able to provide a luxury brand with eco-friendly packaging.

Last November, the brand promised to reduce it's paper usage and carbon footprint.

François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO, PPR, Gucci’s owner, stated: “If we wait for customers to make sustainable development a condition for purchasing, then nothing will happen. It's as if green products were somehow not normal. They are normal, it is the other products that are not normal. It's up to us to work out how to make green products the new normal.”

Spotted in vogue, creative director for Gucci Frida Giannini said  "This project proves that you sacrifice nothing creatively when working with environmentally friendly materials."

Supposedly Gucci Bamboo sunnies :) Apparently its made with liquid wood *Oooohhhhoooo*



In an eco-centric move, they've also launched a new range of environmentally friendly shoes called Sustainable Soles which are for men (sneakers) and women (ballerinas) made from bio plastic.

Sometimes we just need to rid ourselves of the hustle and bustle of city life for some QT and downtime. I always enjoy going to the Stoffberg area in Mpumalanga as my parents have a farm there and its close to Middelburg where I spend most of my holidays. Last Christmas, some close family friends accompanied my family and I to the uBhetyan-O-Africa Lion Park/Game Reserve. It was fantastic!! Ive been to the Lion Park in Magaliesburg and although that one is amazing, it hardly compares to this one. For a recently built park it is beautiful, secluded and a wonderful experience for little children and adults. The park is equipped with lovely thatch chalets and state of the art showers and Jacuzzis. If you feel like lounging around, there's an entertainment area and bar or you can sit along the pool side sipping through some *good stuff* in the fancy glasses they have. Nostalgic

Soo many memories come rushing back to me as I type this. First year (of university that is) seems so distant. Relaxing on the lawns at campus today reminded me of how time passes buy so quickly. It felt amazing! I've learnt soo much and cherished so many good times with lots of friends and people I've met at campus. Being at Wits has not only allowed me to grow as a person but also enjoy the good times of student life! Basking in the sun, the occasional off campus shopping spree, chill sessions at the Bio-Soc on Fridays and much more! I think what aided to my feelings of Nostalgia was the epic return of Rascals (not so epic for me as I soon read the lable and saw that the product contained Beef gelatin) *sigh. Rascals were super awesome when I was younger. I especially liked that huge rascal figurine that was filled with rascals :) and always trying to throw a few up and see if I could catch them in my mouth lol (I think most of us still do this from time to time with pea

I recently read about a cheap and effective rather quick and interesting method called "news paper nails". Here's a step by step method on how you can use news paper laying around in your house for some gorgeous nails. The Merch (merchandise) aka what you will need (felt so gangster typing merch lol) Rubbing alcohol ( normal vodka will do) Squares of newspaper, cut to rectangular pieces to fit your nails White/light pink/nude nail polish (I used a light candy floss pink.) Clear nail polish to glaze over A small dish/cup SO once you've got the merch .. the fun begins!
