Papyrus pizazz- part 1

Polished!

Whether it be nail polish metallic, neon's, or pastels, glitter animal print wraps, nail art stickers and gems or the classic french manicure, taking care of your nails just gives your whole appearance that unique pop at times and can be the perfect accessory.

I recently read about a cheap and effective rather quick and interesting method called "news paper nails". Here's a step by step method on how you can use news paper laying around in your house for some gorgeous nails.

The Merch (merchandise) aka what you will need (felt so gangster typing merch lol)

  1. Rubbing alcohol ( normal vodka will do)
  2. Squares of newspaper, cut to rectangular pieces to fit your nails
  3. White/light pink/nude nail polish (I used a light candy floss pink.)
  4. Clear nail polish to glaze over
  5. A small dish/cup

SO once you've got the merch .. the fun begins!

There is Method to this madness :p

  • Paint your nails (lighter colours tend to work better) allow them to dry
  • Pour some rubbing alcohol or vodka into the cup/dish
  • Soak a nail in the alcohol for about 5-10 seconds
  • Apply and press down the little rectangles of newspaper onto your nails for about 10-15 seconds (its best to have the newspaper pre cut before you start)
  • Remove the piece of news paper and Viola!

****If you are under the age of 18 or don't have alcohol at home, try using almond essence, hand sanitiser or perfume.. most of them contain significant amounts of alcohol.

This is what its supposed to look like... Mine were too faint to see :( so make sure you press down hard and wait for a while.

Here's a step by step video to guide you on how to do it
