My Blog :'( ...  As I'm sure you've noticed is being neglected ... this is due to assignments, tests and exams that have currently been ongoing *sigh* But please.. watch this space... exams finish on the 9th and I've got lots of unwritten  untyped blogs in my head and lots of photo memories coming your way shortly.. see you on the flip side! 

The taste of Joburg 2012 was amazing! I was fortunate enough to win tickets for the Taste of Joburg expo that took place this passed weekend at Monte Casino. Being vegetarian I was a bit sceptical at first to attend (what would I eat) but I decided to give it a bash! and I must say that turned out pretty fantastic! We sampled different types of olives, olive bread and various scrumptious pestos dipped crackers into the aromatic olive oils and much more! We purchased a bottle of the Romesco pesto which has cashew nuts, pickled peppers, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and spices.  I have to say, yes ladies we love chocolate and there was a stand where we could sample the chocolate. I think I spent over 10 minutes at this stand.. my happy place :) I found it quite interesting that the chocolate was dairy free, and sugar free and still tasted divine. I purchased 3  mini slabs of the golden brown rich wonder. They had a variety of flavours, sea salt, chili, and coconut ...

SO I first saw it trending on twitter.. and what might it be?? Well if the heading hasn't yet given it away, and you haven't heard of it yet where have you been?? :/ Gangnam style. My first impression was how do I pronounce that, followed by (for some or other reason), what the heck gangster thing might this be. Maybe I've been watching too many Bollywood movies lately because the thought did cross my mind on whether this was some new Bollywood movie title. Anyway after reading more tweets, googling a bit here and there it came to my attention that it was song and dance (surprise surprise). Having watched the YouTube video I laughed till my tummy hurt and found the dancing, singing and general over all tone rather amusing and intriguing. Sometimes we just need to rid ourselves of the hustle and bustle of city life for some QT and downtime. I always enjoy going to the Stoffberg area in Mpumalanga as my parents have a farm there and its close to Middelburg where I spend most of my holidays. Last Christmas, some close family friends accompanied my family and I to the uBhetyan-O-Africa Lion Park/Game Reserve. It was fantastic!! Ive been to the Lion Park in Magaliesburg and although that one is amazing, it hardly compares to this one. For a recently built park it is beautiful, secluded and a wonderful experience for little children and adults. The park is equipped with lovely thatch chalets and state of the art showers and Jacuzzis. If you feel like lounging around, there's an entertainment area and bar or you can sit along the pool side sipping through some *good stuff* in the fancy glasses they have. I am soooo suuuuper EXCITED!!! Lakme Fashion week  2012 kicks off in Mumbai today (August 3rd 2012) *YAY!!*  The GenNext show (comprising of GenNext designers) is taking place right now as I type this! I cant wait to see Indian fashion showcased and I always enjoy Lakme Fashion week and all Indian Couture has to offer from the sparkly make-up to embellished garments, and ambitious young designers, its a week full of gorgeousness! According to LFW tweets, Sunshine yellows, Cobalt and sharp silhouettes were showcased by designer's Aastha and Siddharth who drew their inspiration from Pac Man ;) Richa Aggarwal used floral and dyed cottons (I don't have pics of this yet.. but I will soon) Apologies for the picture quality as well, (Taken with my BB) Cant wait to see more! 5 more days to go :)

Today (2 August 2012) Raksha Bhandhan is being celebrated world wide! Raksha Bhandhan is the love between a brothers and sisters. The process of Raksha Bhandhan involves a sister tying a thread (Rakhi) for her brother on his wrist which symbolises her love and prayers for his well-being as well as the brother's vow to protect her for her life! According to the Times of India, " President Mukherjee of New Delhi said in his message Raksha Bandhan  is the celebration of the unique relationship that exists between brothers and sisters. "The tying of a Rakhi by a sister symbolizes love, affection and mutual trust between sisters and brothers. Luscious Lips Brrrrrr!!! The cold has finally set in. Which also means chapped or cracked dry lips.. but don't despair, I have some easy inexpensive time efficient solutions that you can do at home. Some helpful tips for lips in need of some TLC If you find yourself licking your lips often during the day, make sure that you aren't thirsty before assuming your lips are in need of moisture. Before purchasing any lip care products make sure you read the label. Try not to get a lip-ice that is too oily as this will leave a sticky residue behind when you mug or bottle when drinking fluids. When purchasing a lip care product ensure that they don't leave an ugly taste in your mouth as more often than not you are likely to ingest some at some point.
